QUALIFICATIONS

Term of Office: Four years.

The president may not serve more than two successive terms.

The current term ends January 2001.

 

 

Qualifications for President

1. Natural born citizen

2. At least 35 years of age

3. A resident within the United States for 14 years before election.

 

 

Qualifications for Vice President

No qualifications are set out in the Constitution.

 

Annual Salary

President $200,000

Vice President $171,500

 

Unwritten Qualifications

1. Political experience, extensive

2. Money

3. The nomination of one of the two major parties

4. Ways of getting more money

5. Some moral character

6. Experience which may serve the country best based on it's needs (for example-early presidents often had law degrees, at the turn of this century the economy is the most important factor).

7. Not too left

8. Not too right

9. A qualified kiss-ass speaker

10. Connection to reputable administrations
